  Lucky Dube died on 18 October 2007 at the age of 43. He never died in a car accident. Lucky Dube was   murdered . According to South African police, Dube was killed in Rosettenville, a suburb of Johannesburg moments after he dropped two of his children at their uncle’s house. On his way from dropping his children off, he was attacked by carjackers who were apparently after the Chrysler 300c he was driving. Police reports said Dube was shot dead by the carjackers when they attempted to seize his car. The carjackers later said they didn’t recognize Dube as the famous musician when they attacked and killed him. Five of the men involved in his murder were later arrested by police, and on 31 March 2009, three of his murderers were found guilty of his murder and sentenced to life in prison.
